Welcome to the 4th installation of KUANTAN160, a century miles (or 160KM) bicycle ride in the scenic east coast town of Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia. We have not open the registration because we are still finalising few issues. The official organiser for this event is the Ministry of Tourism and Culture (MOTAC) Malaysia in Pahang. This year the event is organised in conjunction with Malaysia Year of Festival 2015 (MyFest) and KUANTAN160 is one of the official event for MyFest.
The event will retain the same concept practiced since its inception in 2012, “From Cyclist, For Cyclist” and shall be run by the same cycling hobbyist from Kuantan with no-profit in mind. The event remains as a non-race event but some degree of competitiveness are expected. We have seen KUANTAN160 grew from 850 riders in 2012 to 1500 in 2013 and 1900 in 2014. But we do not plan our event based on numbers. Safety is always our main concern. We managed to reduce the number of accidents from 29 in 2013 to less than 10 last year.
In the current economic challenge for our country, it is not easy to keep organising such event. Therefore we really hope for your continuous support and encouragement.
